Florida State University Libraries has announced plans to migrate its digital collections to TIND Digital Archive, marking a significant upgrade for the FSU Digital Library. The repository currently provides access to more than 125,000 cultural heritage items to faculty, students, and the research community.
Managed by the University Libraries’ Special Collections & Archives (SCA), the digital library contains diverse materials ranging from ancient cuneiform tablets and handwritten manuscripts to contemporary university publications. The collection features contributions from internal partners including the Warren D. Allen Music Library and the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art Archives, as well as community organizations such as the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee and the Havana (Florida) History and Heritage Society.
The transition to TIND follows an extensive procurement review process aimed at supporting long-term growth and streamlining the user experience. According to Katie McCormick, associate dean of Special Collections & Archives, the new platform will help seamlessly connect students, faculty, and community members to the university’s unique collections. Krystal Thomas, director of Digital Archives for SCA, noted that TIND provides excellent object-level and collection-specific tools for better organization, management, and branding.
FSU Libraries will share migration updates and the official launch date in coming months via the FSU Libraries Blog.
